Forklift & Material Handling Valuation

AI-powered appraisals for forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and warehouse equipment.

Used forklifts move fast in the resale market, and pricing them accurately requires more than checking the year and model. Mast type, lift capacity, tire condition, battery age on electric units, hours on propane and diesel machines - each variable shifts the number. Researching all of it manually for every unit slows down a business that runs on throughput.

Stilltide is a used forklift valuation tool that handles that research automatically. Upload photos of your forklift or material handling equipment - JPEG, PNG, or WebP - and the AI identifies the unit, extracts specs, assesses condition from the images, and generates a complete PDF report with market pricing, specs, and a listing-ready description. The entire process takes minutes, not hours.

Forklift and Material Handling Equipment Stilltide Evaluates

The material handling category spans a wide range of equipment types and configurations. Stilltide's AI evaluates:

  • Counterbalance Forklifts - electric, propane, and diesel sit-down riders from Toyota, Crown, Hyster, Yale, Caterpillar, Raymond, and other major manufacturers; three-wheel and four-wheel configurations
  • Reach Trucks - stand-up and sit-down reach trucks, including double-deep reach configurations
  • Order Pickers - low-level and high-level order pickers for warehouse picking operations
  • Pallet Jacks - electric walkie pallet jacks, rider pallet trucks, and manual hand jacks
  • Telehandlers - rotating and fixed-boom telehandlers for construction and agricultural material handling
  • Aerial Work Platforms - scissor lifts, boom lifts, and vertical mast lifts
  • Conveyor Systems - belt conveyors, roller conveyors, and powered sortation systems
  • Dock Equipment - dock levelers, dock seals, and vehicle restraints

For electric forklifts, the AI notes battery type and charger configuration where visible. For IC (internal combustion) units, engine manufacturer, fuel type, and tire type (cushion vs pneumatic) are extracted from the nameplate and photos.

How the Valuation Works

Stilltide runs the evaluation in two phases. In the first phase, the AI identifies the unit from your photos - make, model, year, capacity, mast type, and configuration - and extracts all available specifications along with a condition assessment. Visible wear on forks, mast, tires, and overhead guard is noted. Hour meter readings visible in photos are captured automatically.

In the second phase, the AI researches the current resale market. It identifies comparable units sold recently at auction and through dealer listings, generates a price estimate with a confidence score explaining what factors most influenced the range, and writes a listing description ready for your sales platform or auction catalog.

The output is a professional PDF report covering everything: machine identification, full specifications, condition notes, market pricing with comparable context, and marketing copy. All of it in a single exportable document.

Accepted photo formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP. For forklifts, useful photos include the overall unit from both sides, the mast and forks, the hour meter and data plate, the battery compartment (electric units), and any visible damage or wear. Supporting documents - maintenance logs, inspection records - can be uploaded alongside photos.

Who Uses Stilltide for Forklift Valuations

Forklift dealers and remarketing companies handling fleet liquidations or trade-ins are the core users. When a warehouse closes and you're pricing 20 mixed units in a day, the research cycle per unit adds up fast. Stilltide runs each evaluation independently, so you can move through a fleet systematically without the research bottleneck.

Equipment auction houses cataloging warehouse and material handling lots also get significant value from the marketing copy output. A listing description that names the capacity, mast height, tire type, and condition specifically performs better in search and attracts more qualified bidders than a generic description.

A Note on Pricing Estimates

Stilltide provides market-informed pricing estimates based on current comparable sales, market conditions, and the equipment's visible condition from your photos. These are informational estimates to support your pricing decisions - they are not certified appraisals or formal valuations. For transactions requiring a certified opinion of value, a licensed equipment appraiser should be consulted.

Estimates are built for the real-world resale context, based on actual market data rather than book values or depreciation curves alone.
